Akin Oni is currently President & Chief Development Officer at Eftex Energy, USA - a firm of world class experts specializing in Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestment (MA&D), Petroleum, Refining, Mining and Power Technology Solutions, Project Management Services, Expert Consulting (Risks & Assurance, QA/QC, Investment Governance, Independent Project Audits/Reviews, Resources Sector's Field Opportunity Assessments, etc) and, Engineering and Project Management Training.

A Project Executive par excellence with extensive experience in global project management, project controls, contracts & procurement, and business development in diverse industries, Mr Oni has expertise leading the application of best practices to M&A activities, major studies, field development and execution of oil, natural gas, LNG, refinery, mining and infrastructure engineering projects.  Recognized for implementing a strong focus on Leadership, People, Process, Technology, Deliverable and Sustainability.  Proven track record of leading and enhancing project support teams’ effectiveness through leveraging internal cross-functional strengths.

His primarily Engineering Project Management career is driven by his passion for people, planning and performance, and their impacts on society. Understanding project at its basic level, embedding operating excellence framework at its core, and providing hands-on functional and delivery insights across player groups, industries and continents are the key enablers of his undeniably exciting 30-year career.

Mr. Oni holds a BSc (First Class Honors) degree in Mechanical Engineering (OAU, Ife) and an executive MBA in Project Management (Athabasca University, Canada). He is a certified Project Management Professional, a certified Cost Engineering Professional and a Certified Professional in Training Management. He writes and reviews project management papers, and delivers presentations at global forums.

Mr. Oni is a member of several professional organizations, including the SPE, PMI, IPMA, ASME, AACEI, ACostE and TTI. He is active with the local PMI chapter and Toastmasters Club and volunteers at not-for-profit events, including sitting on the Board of a few. He also currently partners with global experts and consultants to provide niche services in M&A, investment governance, project delivery, refinery turn around maintenance consulting and project management training worldwide, and across industries.
